Our Vision

The Parish of Holy Family, Mt. Waverley being a spirit filled community, is called upon to foster the faith and the commitment of the parishoners to the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Our Mission

The Holy Family Parish Pastoral Council, in consultation with the Parish Priest and the Parish Pastoral Team, will provide lay leadership and effective planning to achieve our vision by:

  • Living and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ in and through every parish activity and with everyone.
  • Ensuring all Council action is based on Gospel values.
  • Developing within the parish a community spirit where parishoners have a sense of belonging that enables them to grow in faith.
  • Promoting values that recognise the family as the domestic Church and as the central unit in the community and in developing an active Family Ministry plan.
  • Giving active support to the less advantaged.
  • Providing on-going education for the spiritual development or our parishoners.
  • Fostering in parishoners liturgical participation and personal renewal, leading to a prayerful community worshipping, working and celebrating together.
  • Nurturing and developing the organisations of the parish by our active support and encouragement.
  • Providing support for the future directions of our Church within the Deanery and Diocese.
  • Involving the parish in the wider community, especially in fostering ecumenism.
